Commercial Axial Fan

Commercial Axial Fan

A commercial axial fan is an axial fan configured for the installation conditions of commercial buildings rather than industrial plants. In a mall, hotel, office block or hospital the fan sits in a ceiling void, has to stay quiet, and has to fit the duct system without site modification. This fan is selected on noise level at the working point and on flange accuracy, not on peak air volume.

Product Overview

A commercial axial fan is an axial fan configured for the installation conditions of commercial buildings rather than industrial plants. In a mall, hotel, office block or hospital the fan sits in a ceiling void, has to stay quiet, and has to fit the duct system without site modification. This fan is selected on noise level at the working point and on flange accuracy, not on peak air volume.

Core Advantages

Noise measured over time, not only at start-up. The impeller is finely balanced and the motor is a low-noise type. In testing, noise change after six months of continuous running stayed within 2 dB(A). For a commercial project this reduces the risk at handover and in the warranty period, where a noise complaint is the most common after-sales issue.

Flange accuracy for direct connection to commercial ductwork. The casing surface finish is regular and flange dimensions are held to tighter tolerance, so the fan connects to the duct system without gaskets packed out on site or adapter pieces.

Lower noise and vibration than the industrial version at the same duty. Motor and impeller are specified one grade quieter than the industrial range. Working noise is 45–70 dB(A) depending on size and speed. In a ceiling void or near occupied space this is the difference between passing the acoustic requirement and failing it.

Small sizes down to 0.06 kW. Motor power starts at 0.06 kW and impeller diameter at 200 mm, which suits toilet exhaust and small branch ducts where an industrial fan would be oversized.

Application Scenarios

• Toilet exhaust in office buildings and shopping malls
• Kitchen make-up air in hotel kitchens
• Ward ventilation in hospitals
• Classroom fresh air systems in schools
• Induction ventilation in underground car parks, where the low-noise version suits better than the industrial version

Customised range (to be confirmed per project): low-speed configuration or silencer section to meet project noise limit; voltage to destination market; wall, duct or ceiling mounting.

OEM/ODM

For projects with a stated acoustic limit, the fan is matched to the noise requirement first and to the air volume second, since a fan selected on air volume alone often exceeds the acoustic limit at the actual working point.

Customizable Items:
• Low-speed configuration for noise limits
• Silencer section
• Voltage to destination market
• Mounting type (wall / duct / ceiling)

Quality Control

Flange interfaces are fitted with protective covers for shipment, and the impeller and motor are fixed separately so that bearings are not loaded in transit. Standard export packing is a wooden case; loading ports are Shanghai and Ningbo.

FAQ

Q: Can a commercial axial fan and an industrial axial fan be used interchangeably?

A: Technically yes, but it is not advisable. The industrial version is usually too noisy for commercial premises, and the commercial version may not be durable enough for an industrial environment. Where the budget allows, selecting the series that matches the application avoids both problems.

Q: What should be watched when mounting in a ceiling void?

A: Use anti-vibration hangers so that fan vibration is not transmitted into the ceiling. Connect the outlet to the duct with a flexible connector to reduce noise transmission. Where ceiling depth is limited, specify the short-casing version.
