Square Axial Flow Fan

A square axial flow fan is a plate-mounted axial fan for square wall openings and equipment panels. Round duct fans need an adapter flange and sealing work when they go into a square opening in a wall, a box-type equipment panel or a packaged ventilation unit. This fan carries the axial fan on a square faceplate whose dimensions match the standard opening, so it bolts directly to a prepared square frame. It is used for side-wall exhaust on industrial buildings and as an integrated panel fan in packaged air-handling units.

Faceplate matches the opening, so no adapter flange is needed. The fan mounts directly on a prefabricated square frame with bolts. On site this removes the conversion flange, the sealing work and the associated leak path at the joint.

Sealed weld between faceplate and casing. The faceplate and casing are seal-welded, which holds air leakage at the panel joint to a low level, compared with a bolted-on round fan plus adapter.

Shared platform with the direct drive axial fan range. The impeller and motor are common with the direct drive axial fan series: aluminium impeller, dynamic balancing, motor protection from IP54. Spare parts and selection data are therefore consistent across the two ranges.

Tight side-by-side arrangement. Square faceplates can be arranged close together on one wall or in one unit casing, so the space used per fan is lower than with round fans. For customers building packaged ventilation units, this raises the number of fans that fit a given panel.

The faceplate and casing joint is seal-welded and checked before painting or galvanising, because this joint is where leakage would show on a panel installation. Faceplate corners are protected with foam corner pieces for transport, and the impeller and motor are fixed to the inside of the faceplate so that nothing moves inside the panel in transit. Packing is carton or wooden case, suitable for sea and road freight.
